Police detain man with bow and arrow near Capitol

Capitol Police on Wednesday morning detained an individual who owned an "unusual vehicle" parked near the Capitol complex with a bow and arrow inside. 

“This morning, USCP officers saw an unusual vehicle on Pennsylvania Avenue with a tri-cycle strapped to the roof. Upon looking closer, officers saw a bow and arrow and empty gun holster in plain view,” U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) said in a statement sent to The Hill.

"The owner of the vehicle was located just outside of the north barricade, and was detained for further questioning. The individual admitted to having guns in the vehicle, along with the bow and arrow," it added.

FOX5 snapped a photo of the arrest, which occurred around 9 a.m.

Capitol Police said charges are currently pending.
