1 dead, 2 missing after 6 go over waterfall in Oregon
Six people went over Dillon Falls on the Deschutes River Saturday, putting in motion a search and rescue operation that rescued three of the people.
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One person is dead and two were missing after six people went over a waterfall in Oregon, authorities said.
The group went over Dillon Falls on the Deschutes River, just outside of Bend, on Saturday.
The emergency response began around 3 p.m. with responders from the sheriff's office, Search and Rescue, Bend Fire & Rescue, a drone from Bend police, and help with an aerial search from Airlink, authorities said in a release.
One person died at the scene. Three were rescued and rushed by ambulance to St. Charles-Bend, but two others remain missing as of Sunday.

Dillon Falls, which is within Deschutes National Forest, features a large drop followed by a series of rapids that surge through a narrow gorge of lava rock.
